San Salvador.- The American actor and filmmaker Daniel Baldwin met with the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, to talk about his plan to attract the film and television industry to the Central American country, the Government Communications Secretariat confirmed to Efe on Friday.
The meeting between Bukele, Baldwin and the Salvadoran ambassador to the United States, Milena Mayorga, took place on Thursday night.
“Amazing meeting and dinner with @nayibbukele (Bukele) and @MilenaMayorga (Mayorga). Our plan to bring the film and television industry and much more to El Salvador has begun. God is great ”, the actor published this Friday on his Twitter account.
For his part, Mayorga stated that Baldwin “wants to move to El Salvador with his family.”
The governmental Diario El Salvador published on its social networks on Thursday that the American producer will also meet with officials from the Bukele government “in order to discuss the creation of a film and television company in the country.”
He indicated that, on February 7, Baldwin reported that, together with his family, “they will create an alliance with El Salvador to work with President Bukele in the construction of the most important film and television company in the history of Latin America.” .
“I am flying to El Salvador to meet with the president @nayibbukele, together we will discuss many factors that will lead us to build an incredible film community. I can’t wait to start. Thank you, Mr. President,” the actor posted on Twitter on Wednesday.
So far no details of the aforementioned plan are known and whether this initiative will be carried out with private funds or with public investment.
