Actor Bruce Willis closes his career due to illness

Legendary Hollywood actor Bruce Willis has completed more than 40 years of cognitive illness, the 67-year-old’s family said.

A family statement posted on Instagram’s daughter, Rümer Willis, the daughter of Tough Nut and Lubene, states that Willis is exposed to aphasia, which affects a person’s ability to perceive speech or understand others.

“As a result, and after much deliberation, Bruce is leaving the career that meant so much to him,” added a statement signed by Willis’ wife Emma, his ex-wife Demi Moore, and daughters Rumer, Scout, Talul, Meibel, and Evelina.

There has been speculation in recent weeks about Willis’ short-term memory, and he did not attend the Oscar ceremony at the US Academy Award on Sunday in honor of Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film Pulene (Pulp Fiction). Other stars Samuel Jackson, Uma Tourman and John Travold took the stage at the Dolby Theater.

During his career in the 1980s, Willis received the Golden Globe and two Emmy Awards.

According to the US National Aphasia Association, the disease is an acquired communication disorder that impairs a person’s ability to perceive language, but does not affect his or her intellectual abilities. Illness affects the ability to speak and understand others. Aphasia is usually caused by a stroke or head injury.
