Hill played Captain Edward John Smith in Titanic and King Theoden in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. He joined the cast of the second installment of the franchise, The Two Towers (2002), and the third film, The Return of the King (2003), which won 11 Oscars.

Hill also starred in films such as “Gandhi” (1982), “True Crime” (1999), “The Scorpion King” (2002), “Operation Valkyrie” (2008) and many others.
