Actor Bas Muijs is back on stage after a difficult period. After a massive heart attack and months of rehabilitation, he became a victim of abuse and extortion.

The 47-year-old actor suffered a massive heart attack in December 2021, which he barely survived. After months of rehabilitation, Muijs returned to the series Good times Bad Times, where he plays the role of Stefano Sanders. Physically, he almost feels like his old self again, he tells it AD.

In March this year, the actor was taken hostage and shot with a nail gun. Muijs cannot say much about the case, because the investigation into the crime is still ongoing. The case will later be substantively dealt with in court.

The fact that Muijs can be back on stage after this turbulent period gives him a lot of energy. “As an actor, there is nothing more wonderful than standing on stage in front of a room full of people who are laughing incessantly. It is also one of the things that kept me going in the past period.” The actor will be in the theater with the Theater van de Farce on Saturday and later this year with the performance Oh Oh The Hague.

Muijs has also taken up his old hobby of indoor football again. “I had to train extra for that,” he says. “Reuniting with my team was such an emotional moment that the referee had to stop the match for a moment. I am also so very grateful that I can do it all again.”
