Just in advance: what exactly has been decided about “Home”?
The top of the VRT put a transformation plan on the table this afternoon. By 2025, the public broadcaster wants to do it with about a tenth of the staff – more than 200 people – including through 116 layoffs and by outsourcing the production of the soap “Thuis”. The 70 staff members involved in “Home” – actors and production staff – will therefore have to transfer to another company. It has not yet been decided which production house that will be, but exploratory talks have already taken place.
