The American actor Andre Braugher died this Wednesday at the age of 61 due to an illness, as confirmed by Jennifer Allen, his publicity agent to the American press.
More information
The actor is known for his role as Raymond Holt, one of the commissioners in the police comedy ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and for being the Baltimore detective Frank Pembleton in ‘Homicide’, for which he won an Emmy Award in 1998. After eleven nominations, he picked up another Emmy in 2006 as best actor in the series ‘Thief’, a role that later brought him onto the shortlist for a Golden Globe.
Although his latest works have been playing secondary characters, he was expected to star in ‘Residence’, one of Netlfix’s new ventures. The latest project in which Braugher has participated has been giving life to the editor of the newspaper ‘The New York Times’, in charge of carrying out, together with reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohy, one of the investigations that developed the #MeToo movement and the Harvey Weinstein accusation.
