The artist has repeatedly admitted that in his creative life there has been one film – “My friend – a frivolous person”, one role in the theater – Jāzeps (“Jāzeps and his brothers”), one song – “Cielaviņa”. However, the work of Jānis Paukštello is much richer. It has more than 40 film roles in feature films and TV series in Latvian and other countries, where every fan of cinema and Jānis Paukštello’s talent has his own interesting, close and popular image depicted by the artist. But in the forty-five years spent on the Daile Theater stage, he has played more than 150 roles.
As a singing actor Jānis Paukštello has been involved in various musical projects – in the ensemble of actors “Eternal Eison”, he has given concerts with Raimonds Pauls and Harry Spanovskis, Laila Ilze Purmalietis. There are many poetry readings, work in radio theater productions and Latvian Christian Radio. Jānis Pukštello has been a popular host of various cultural events.
The Latvian State Archive of Film and Photophono Documents joins the admirers of Jānis Paukštello’s talent, congratulating the artist on his anniversary, and offers to get acquainted with the photos of the actor’s professional activities, watch the excerpt from the Latvian radio song survey “Mikrofons-82”, in which the artist performs as a laureate with Raimonds Pauls song “Cielaviņa”.
