Actor and director Robert Downey, died Tuesday night at the age of 85 at his home in New York, the artist suffered from Parkinson’s disease and had been struggling with it for years.
Downey worked in the entertainment industry from the 50s until 2011, which he officially retired, was the father of Allyson Downey and Robert Downey Jr. recognized for playing the character of Tony Stark (Iron Man).
His son confirmed the death on his Instagram account, “Dad passed away peacefully in his sleep after years of enduring the ravages of Parkinson’s, he was a true unconscious filmmaker and remained optimistic all the time,” wrote Robert Downey Jr.
The artist directed “Putney Swope” and participated in films such as: The Twilight Zone, Boogie Nights ‘,’ Magnolia ‘and’ To Live And Die in LA
