Drama on the film set of the western “Rest”, which is shot in the US state of New Mexico: during the shooting of the film, director of photography Halyne Hutchins was accidentally shot and killed. The fatal shot was fired by the famous actor Alec Baldwin, who plays one of the main roles in the film.
A firearm loaded with loose cartridges was used during the shooting, the Santa Fe County Sheriff said. Yet camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (42) and director Joel Soeza (48) were hit when Baldwin fired a shot.
Camerawoman Hutchins was helicoptered to New Mexico University Hospital, but she died of her injuries. Director Joel Souza is in intensive care.
What exactly went wrong on the set is still unclear and is still being investigated by the police. No one was arrested for the incident. However, the shooting for the film was stopped.
