Activities to promote voluntary and habitual blood donation begin on Monday

On the occasion of celebrating National Voluntary Blood Donor Day on November 9, the Regional Hemotherapy Center has programmed actions to promote voluntary and habitual blood donation, unrelated to replacement.

Blood is a unique, irreplaceable good and cannot be manufactured, so the only way to obtain it is through donation from people who are in good health. Therefore, the activities seek to make visible the permanent need for blood and add regular donors.

In this framework, the company SAETA will collaborate with the promotion, through a graphic campaign in the public transport units of the city of Salta and the metropolitan area.

Professionals from the Regional Hemotherapy Center will attend the Salesian Ángel Zerda secondary school and the Tomás Cabrera Provincial School of Fine Arts, where they will hold informative and awareness-raising talks with fourth and fifth year students. The objective is for students to become familiar with voluntary and habitual donation, to be able to actively participate in promotional campaigns and to join as donors.

  • The visit to the Salesian school will take place on Monday the 4th and Tuesday the 5th, starting at 8.30. That day, at 10, the event to kick off Donor Week will begin, on the corner of Entre Ríos and Bolívar.
  • On Tuesday the 5th, at 10, at Bolívar 687, the Regional Hemotherapy Center will deliver certificates to institutions friendly to voluntary blood donation.
  • On Wednesday the 6th, starting at 8:30, there will be a blood collection from all groups and factors in Plaza 9 de Julio.
  • On Thursday the 7th, starting at 10:30, the main event will be held at the headquarters of the Regional Hemotherapy Center, Bolívar 687.
  • On Friday the 8th, starting at 8:30, a blood collection will be held from all groups and factors at the Ernesto Miguel Aráoz secondary school, located in the Intersindical neighborhood. Starting at 3 p.m., staff from the Regional Hemotherapy Center will participate in an awareness talk organized by the Argentine Red Cross Salta Branch, for students from invited schools.
  • On Saturday the 9th, National Voluntary Blood Donor Day, donations will be received during the usual hours from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Bolívar 687.

Lord of the Miracle Hospital

The Hemotherapy service of the Señor del Milagro hospital will carry out promotional and awareness activities from Monday the 11th to Friday the 15th.

  • On Monday the 11th, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., in all hospital services, recreational activities will be carried out with the staff, in order to internalize the requirements to be a donor and promote voluntary and habitual donation by workers and their immediate environment. .
  • On Tuesday the 12th, between 10 and 12, blood samples will be taken to determine blood group and factor among the people who are in the central room of the hospital.
  • On Wednesday the 13th, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be training for technicians and graduates in Hemotherapy on tissue regeneration with blood components from degenerative and traumatic injuries. It will be led by the specialist in Hemotherapy, Immunohematology, Hemostasis and Tissue Regeneration, Patricia Méndez.
  • On Thursday the 14th, starting at 10, in the auditorium there will be recreational activities for staff, with the aim of raising awareness about blood donation.
  • On Friday the 15th, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., a blood collection will be held from all groups and factors on Sarmiento Avenue, in front of the main access to the Señor del Milagro hospital. The collection will be carried out on the mobile phone of the Regional Hemotherapy Center.
