Since their opening, the Halles “Terres de Provence” have attracted several thousand customers each year looking for local, seasonal and quality products, sold at very attractive prices. In order to meet growing expectations, but also those of producers who sold more than 1,000 tonnes of goods last year, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis has decided to expand the offering of these markets cultivating “good eat” in Provence.
The winter closure of the Halles de Plan de Campagne postponed
This is the reason why the Halles de Plan de Campagne, which were initially due to close their doors on October 25, will finally open until December 20, 2024, every Friday, from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. (note: no edition on the 1st november). Located in the commercial area, opposite Gifi Cabriès, the farmers’ market will offer thematic activities every week, with tastings and workshops. Squash for Halloween, agricultural traditions, honey from Provence but also breeding will be in the spotlight.
Les Halles de La Barrasse switches to winter time and celebrates autumn
Another new feature: the Halles de La Barrasse, located in the parking lot of the eponymous station, in the 11th arrondissement of Marseille, will switch to winter time from October 31. Farmers will open their stalls earlier, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Note that the market will also celebrate fall on October 31. Enough to fill your basket with Halloween treats and peasant jams, enjoy small pancakes offered, buy bouquets of local flowers dedicated to All Saints’ Day or even participate in the autumn raffle which offers to win a trio of squash!
