Activities continue for the 10th Anniversary of the Pulpí School of Art

The Pulpí Scenic Space has hosted several activities this weekend for the 10th Anniversary of the local School of Art “Pintor Pedro Antonio Martínez”.

The day of activities began at twelve noon with the inauguration of the
Exposition of Painting of the students of the School of Art of Pulpí, in which the students have exhibited in the auditorium, their wonderful works of art that now the visitors will also be able to enjoy.

During the inauguration, in which the mayor of Pulpí, Juan Pedro García, the councilor of Culture, Juan Bautista López, and the director of the local school, María Rosa Ponce, mainly congratulated the students, in addition to remembering the origin of the school and its trajectory during these 10 years. “Thanks to all of you who collaborate so that this art school has a greater presence in our municipality every day, and from the Pulpí City Council we will always continue to support the culture of our town,” said the mayor.

Next, the director of the School presented to the public, the story created and illustrated by her, of the Painter Pedro Antonio Martínez, a beautiful story that tells the life of the painter Pedro Antonio so that everyone can know and admire the art of the illustrious pulpileño.

Around noon, those present enjoyed a appetizer enlivened with the performance of artists from Pulpi: Laura Diepstraten and Noelia Hernández. In the afternoon and to close the day, the talk-colloquium “Recovering the history of Pedro Antonio” took place, in which Andrés García Ibáñez, painter and founder of the “Casa Ibáñez” Museum in Olula del Río, took part; Juan Manuel Martín, director of the “Casa Ibáñez Museum Foundation” and the “Doña Pakyta” Museum and the “Espacio 2” Museum of Almería; Ignacio Martín Cuadrado, psychologist, artist and founder of the Drawing Museum in Vera; Pedro Jesús García, member of the Cultural Association “La Legua”; Lorenzo López Asensio, Bachelor of Fine Arts; Juan Bautista López, Councilor for Culture of the Pulpí City Council; José Haro, local poet; José Losilla, connoisseur of Pedro Antonio; and Juan Pedro Sánchez Cano, a relative and connoisseur of the illustrious painter.
