Activision modifies Black Ops Cold War trailer that suggested staggered PS5 release

Earlier this week you could here read on PSX-Sense that a striking note was featured in a trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. At the end, on the release date, it said the PS5 version of the shooter will be released in the United States and Canada for the 2020 holiday season. Worldwide, the game would appear ‘at the end of 2020’, where the current-gen release is scheduled for November 13.

Holidays in North America include Thanksgiving, which traditionally takes place on Thursday, this year on November 26. The day after is known worldwide, that is ‘Black Friday’. While not literal, the trailer indirectly suggested that the PlayStation 5 will be released in North America in November, where the rest of the world will be next. Activision also communicated this with a press release.

Although it’s a small note in the trailer, some people noticed it. In fact, the trailer was taken offline shortly after its release and a new version has now gone online. You can view it below and the difference is that the PS5 version is now on ‘Holiday 2020’.
