Activision Blizzard is carving handheld gold in the office
—
More than half of Activision Blizzard’s revenue came from the mobile market during the period April to June 2022. According to their financial rapport for the period it looked like this:
PC – $332 million
Console – $376 million
Mobile Games – $831 million
This means that half of the company’s income is borne by the mobile market. If we look at the same period last year, the numbers looked a little different.
PC – $628 million
Console – $740 million
Mobile Games – $795 million

According to the figures, it then looks like it is only the mobile market that has increased income, while both PC and console have lost. One reason why the mobile revenue increased is of course that Activision bought the mobile developer King in 2016. Even though it was a few years ago now, these mobile games probably bring in a steady capital every year that neither PC nor Console can generate. Then combine this with that Diablo Immortal was also released this year. Regardless of the criticism the mobile Diablo– the game has had to endure, it still seems to bring in money to the coffers.
I conclude the article with the “thought-provoking” words of our very own Wyatt Cheng:
“Do you guys not have phone?”
