Activision Blizzard will not be part of the Game Awards

Being totally honest and transparent, I am not a fan of Geoff Keighley, much less The Game Awards, but this does not mean that anything that I consider well done by the event or by it, does not deserve that I give my ten.

As you may recall, Activision Blizzard has been beating the innocent for years, but it was only a few months ago that the horrible events that apparently were happening indoors came to light, something that in one way or another, only made worse. over time, and in more ways than one. Fortunately, many big names in the industry spoke out against the situation, with a new name added to this list today.

Geoff Keighley confirms that Activision Blizzard will not be part of The Game Awards

And it is that beyond the nominations of Warzone and Destiny 2, Geoff Keighley confirmed not only through his interview with The Washington Post, but also on his personal Twitter, that Activision Blizzard will not be part of the event.

“Beyond their nominations, I can confirm that Activision Blizzard will not be part of this year’s Game Awards”

“The Game Awards is a time of celebration of the industry, the best form of entertainment in the world. There is no place for abuse, harassment or predatory practices in any company or community “

On this he also added: “I also realize that we have a great platform which can accelerate and inspire change. We are committed to that, but we all need to work together to build a better and more inclusive environment so that everyone feels confident about creating the best games in the world. “

It is true that perhaps, coming from Geoff Keighley, to more than one this may seem like a simple movement to protect their event, and perhaps it is so, but in this particular situation the truth is that it does not matter much, since it is better to do it and trying to put more weight on the accused, than keeping quiet and continuing to allow impunity for them.
