Active Cases of Covid-19 in East Kalimantan Down, Military Commander Major General Heri Wiranto urges residents to stay vigilant

TRIBUNKALTIM.CO, BALIKPAPAN – Active confirmed cases of covid-19 in East Kalimantan Province tends to fluctuate.

This has come to the attention of Commander VI/Mulawarman, Major General of the TNI Heri Wiranto.

“Actually, fluctuations up and down should also be our concern. That once it goes down, it will continue. It’s not like that,” he said Major General of the TNI Heri Wiranto, Thursday (30/9/2021).

According to the 2-star General, even though there is a decrease in active cases, it must be accompanied by public alertness so that there will not be another spike in cases.

Because, said Major General TNI Heri Wiranto, active confirmed cases could rise again at any time.

“You can imagine that in July, the pandemic in East Kalimantan rose to 2,000 people per day, yes. Then it fell by 1,500 and the figure is now below 100,” explained Major General of the TNI Heri Wiranto.

That way, he continued, would be a good opportunity for the people of East Kalimantan to work together to reduce the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases.

However, with the decrease in cases Covid-19, don’t let the community become ignorant because of the spike in cases that occur from time to time.

“Learning from Singapore-Malaysia, now cases are rising again. Even though Singapore-Malaysia was originally almost finished,” he said.

So he appealed to the public to remain vigilant even though they did not neglect the health protocols in order to keep the cases from rising again.

“I always remind the public, let’s be careful. Be vigilant even though the numbers are declining,” he said Major General of the TNI Heri Wiranto.
