Montevideo, December 26 (EFE).- Active cases of covid-19 have increased again in Uruguay and have gone from 4,599 to 7,631 in one week, according to the weekly report presented this Monday by the Ministry of Public Health.
The document released by the portfolio specifies that 27,401 tests were carried out between December 18 and 24, of which 8,216 were positive.
According to this, the positivity was 30%, which is higher than what was seen in the previous week of December when it was 22.2%.
Right now there are 7,631 people affected by the disease, 3,032 more than those who did between December 11 and 17.
In the last week, however, ten people have died from the disease and the death toll since March 2020, when the covid-19 health emergency was declared in Uruguay, has risen to 7,562.
As for vaccination, according to data appearing this Monday on the web monitor developed by the MSP, 2,895,249 people completed their immunization regimen with two doses from Chinese pharmaceutical companies Sinovac, the Anglo-Swedish AstraZeneca or the American Pfizer.
Additionally, 2,066,153 people received three doses of the vaccine and 793,687 people reached the fourth dose.
