Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila. – The Mobile Unit of the DIF Coahuila resumed operations in the town for the detection of breast, cervical, and prostate cancer.
Every Wednesday, from 9 in the morning to 1 in the afternoon, sampling for Pap smears, HPV, colposcopy, breast examination and prostate antigen will be available at the Municipal DIF facilities.
“We resumed activities this Wednesday and thus every week we will be assisting women and men to take care of their health and the timely detection of chronic diseases,” explained Luis Humberto Valdés Rodríguez, municipal director of Health.
According to the official, the performance of tests for the detection of cancer is unlimited, that is, there is a wide capacity of attention every week.
Patients are evaluated in the Mobile Unit and there is a personalized follow-up in case of being positive for any of the diseases.
“The call is to the entire population to come for their check-ups and, mainly, to men who continue to show resistance to taking prostate antigen due to taboos.”
It is estimated that for every 10 women who attend a study, only two men attend to identify if they are at risk for prostate cancer.
