Cooperation with “Solidarity” for the Support of the Elderly
One of the central actions implemented by the Municipality is the collaboration with the non-profit Alzheimer’s disease and Healthy Aging company “Solidarity”. Through this partnership, free, high-quality mental empowerment services are provided for older people with physical disabilities or mental deficits. Support is also extended to patients’ families, offering psychological support and education and awareness programs. Particular emphasis is placed on prevention, with special programs implemented by specialized health professionals.
Innovation with the Creation of K.E.P. Health
Another innovation of the Municipality of Hersonissos is the upcoming operation of the K.E.P. Health. It is an innovative service that will offer citizens information and reminders for preventive examinations, development of health programs, as well as advisory support, strengthening public health at the local level.
Cooperation with “Oikanos Co.S.Ep.” for Independent Living
The cooperation agreement with the social cooperative enterprise “Oikanos Co.S.Ep.” is also in the final stage. The aim of this collaboration is to ensure independent living conditions for elderly and disabled pensioners of the Municipality, ensuring that they remain in their familiar environment, avoiding entry into closed care units and preventing situations of social exclusion.

The Mayor of Hersonissos, Mr. Zacharias Doxastakis, underlined the importance of these actions, stating: “We know the importance and necessity of supporting Public Health, but also especially the necessity of helping vulnerable social groups and the elderly.
