The developers of DICE have gone to great lengths to try to win back the bug-ridden audience of Battlefield 2042, and have made the patched game not only free for a short time, but also available at a very affordable price. The PC Gamer according to it underwent very serious developments, which was fitting, since after its release in 2021
became the most reviled piece of the series (at least on Steam for sure).
Since then, the cosmic balance seems to have been restored: a lot of bugs have been fixed, with the release of the 4th season, four new maps, four new weapons, a never-before-seen light tank and a tracking specialist with strong jamming capabilities have been added.
