A 39-year-old man was detained for beating and shot with a pistol in Pernik, police said, Dariknews reported.
The incident happened on May 29, 20 minutes after midnight. The uniformed officers reacted immediately to a signal of a scandal and a beating in a restaurant. It was established on the spot that the conflict arose in the yard of the restaurant between a 51-year-old man and an 18-year-old youth.
The younger man struck his opponent. A 39-year-old man came to the rescue, pulled out a legally owned pistol, fired a shot and wounded the 18-year-old in the calf. The two victims were taken to hospital and placed for treatment without danger to life. The shooter was arrested for up to 24 hours.
The reasons for what happened are being established. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office and the investigation is ongoing.
