Thiruvananthapuram | MA Baby, a member of the CPM politburo, reacted strongly to the threat of Governor Arif Muhammad Khan to fire ministers who criticized him. Baby said the governor’s action was completely unusual. The Governor should act on the advice of the Cabinet. Baby said it was the governor who said without saying that the RSS chief was on top of him.
The governor had tweeted that if ministers insulted the governor, rigorous action would be taken and he would be removed from the office of minister. He had said that advice can be given but not to diminish the dignity of the governorate.
The governor does not have the power to fire ministers: PDT Achari
Former Lok Sabha general secretary PDT Achari made it clear that the governor does not have the power to fire ministers. The Prime Minister has all the powers of the state. Achari said the governor is only the constitutional head.
