Acting (Pj) Mayor of Mojokerto, East Java, Mohammad Ali Kuncoro, invited all people in his area to participate in the success of the National Polio Immunization (PIN) sub-week program which will start on January 15 2024.
Mohammad Ali Kuncoro, after carrying out an inspection at the Kedundung Community Health Center, Tuesday, said that the Polio sub PIN would be carried out in two rounds, the first round would be held on 15-21 January 2024, and the second round on 19-25 February 2024.
“Especially I ask mothers who have children aged 0-7 years 11 months, come and bring their children to all the nearest PIN Posts in Mojokerto City. Polio immunization is important for the future generation of Mojokerto City to be healthier and stronger ,” said Ali Kuncoro.
Mas Acting Mayor, as he is familiarly known, explained that Polio PIN posts in Mojokerto City are provided at Community Health Centers, Posyandu, as well as in all Kindergarten-PAUD schools and elementary grades 1 and 2.
Head of the Mojokerto City Health, Disease Control and Family Planning Service (Dinkes PPKB), Dr. Farida Mariana M Kes, said that all children in Mojokerto City must receive polio immunization considering that currently there is no cure for polio.
“The target is 15,900 children, don’t miss out on anything, sweep it up so that our children are healthy, this is important because there is no cure for polio,” said Farida.
Massive outreach has also been carried out to make the Polio Sub PIN a success in Mojokerto City, including synergy between regional apparatus organizations (OPD).
“We, the Health Service, are also working with the Communications and Information Service to carry out publications, mobilizing all support systems in our ranks, starting from community health centers, posyandu, cadres. We are also working with the Education Department,” he said.
