September 8 at 19:00 in the culture room Ola Foundation with the program “Across the river. Ziedonis and the German” the legendary, popular actor Įrts Jakovljevs, his granddaughter – the young, rising opera star Katrīna Paula Felsberga, the attractive pianist Agnese Egliņa and the magician of percussion instruments Guntars Freibergs will be visiting.
September is poetry time in Latvia. In the evening program we will hear poetry and Latvian vocal chamber music with the words of our excellent poets Imantas Ziedoņš and Ojārs Vācieš. The poetry, which is written in golden letters in Latvian culture, will be read by the charismatic actor Ęirts Jakovļevs.
Across the fateful river Daugava. Across the river of time, where youth and experience meet. Across the river of music and poetry – it will be a beautiful meeting…
In the course of the evening, music will be played by Latvian composers of different generations: Pēteris Vasks, Jēkabs Jančevskis, Romualds Kalsons, Pēteris Plakidis, Pauls Dambis, Imants Zemzaris, Kārlis Lācis and Arturs Maskats, who at different times and each of them woven the words of the two poets into their musical language.
