Swedish clothing brand Acne Studios has officially collaborated with old friend Magnus Carlsson to launch a new book “My Friend Magnus”.
In the 1990s, Magnus Carlsson’s aesthetic vision and eye-catching style caught the attention of the brand’s creative director Jonny Johansson, and the two began a partnership. During this time, Magnus Carlsson played a key role in Jonny Johansson’s vision and the overall development of Acne Studios. He was primarily responsible for planning the Acne Studios showrooms and the canteen and library at Floragatan 13, the Stockholm headquarters.
“My Friend Magnus” displays more than 200 sets of Magnus Carlsson’s outfits. Each set includes Acne Studios’ current season or past items, and each outfit is accompanied by a detailed description. In addition, Italian fashion writer Angelo Flaccavento writes a preface to the book, exploring in depth the impact of fashion on sociology.
“His dynamic personality, taste for books and access to reference materials have inspired me and informed my work over the years, and I hope this book will give even more people a glimpse of the brilliance that emanated from Magnus Carlsson “The purpose of this book is not to be placed on the bookshelf as decoration, but to inspire and encourage others to transcend the boundaries of fashion culture, time and gender and break through themselves.” Jonny Johansson shared.
“My Friend Magnus” is now available on the brand’s official website, designated physical stores and bookstores. Interested readers may wish to pay more attention.
