ACM City One, the electric city car you don’t expect. It comes from Germany and will be presented in the coming days at the Munich Auto Show.
ACM City One: replaceable batteries in 3 minutes
It is not believed: the country of solid and structured industry has become the home of start-ups in the electricity sector. We have written several times about the Sion by Sono Motors, the whole car covered of solar panels. Or of the e-Go, another battery-powered city car. Now comes the ACM City One, born from the start-up Adaptive City Mobility (here the site) and focuses above all on the city car-sharing market, which is increasingly widespread and used. The look is very reminiscent of an evergreen like the Fiat Panda. The development was taken care of by a well-known company in the automotive sector such as the Magna of Graz, Austria, the same one that builds the Jaguar I-Pace. Among the measures studied there is the possibility of individually removing each of the four batteries from 2.5 kWh (10 kWh total). This is also to be able to recharge them comfortably from the domestic socket, like a mobile phone.
There is talk of a price of only 10 thousand euros
The house points in 3 minutes the time required to replace the discharged accumulator with a charged one. And therefore to overcome the problem of autonomy, which with 10 kWh of batteries can only be contained. In addition to the standard version intended for passenger transport, with 5 homologated seats, the ACM City One will also be available in cargo variant, for deliveries in the city. With this set-up it will be able to accommodate only two people, but with a load compartment with a capacity equal to 1,450 liters. As for the interior, the now inevitable stands out in the center of the passenger compartment display del sistema d’infotainment, cantilevered in the center of the dashboard. It is designed for the remote management of some functions via smartphone. Prices are not yet available, which will presumably be communicated in Munich. There are those who speak of 10 thousand euros, very competitive for an electric
