Acid Wizard Studio Announces Indefinite Hiatus Due to Workload and Well-being Concerns

Acid Wizard Studio, the developer behind survival horror game Darkwood, has announced that they are closing operations indefinitely. The reason was that the studio was unable to maintain a work environment that could be classified as healthy, and they chose to suspend operations entirely due to the workload negatively impacting the company’s employees. The company said via social media that it hopes to be back in 5-10 years and that it prioritizes the well-being of its employees above anything else:

“Our families are our number one priority and they should not be negatively impacted by our work,”

“Ultimately, we decided it was best to go our separate ways, with the possibility of coming back in 5-10 years, when we were together. That’s not necessarily bad news! We’re not going to disappear, we want our game to continue.

They also stated that they want their games to live on into the future, and they encourage other developers to get in touch with us if they want to take over work on any future sequels.
