Moroccan player Achrafi Hakimi he had a penguin party after hitting a panenka kick that knocked Spain out in the round of 16 World Cup 2022Wednesday (7/12) early morning WIB.
Hakimi was the decider for Morocco’s victory over Spain in a penalty shoot-out which ended with the score 3-0. The Paris Saint-Germain player took a collected kick that deceived La Furia Roja goalkeeper, Unai Simon.
Three Spanish penalty takers had previously failed to perform their duties. Pablo Sarabia’s execution hit the post while kicks from Carlos Soler and Sergio Busquets were countered by goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
Meanwhile, four of the three Moroccan penalty takers, namely Abdelhamid Sabiri, Hakim Ziyech and Hakimi, successfully performed their duties.
Hakimi didn’t run right after breaking down Unai Simon’s door. Instead, he displayed a penguin-like celebration when he faced his teammates running towards him.
Hakimi’s celebration went viral on social media. According to football.newz, Hakimi’s penguin celebration appears to be a message to coach Luis Enrique that he hasn’t called Sergio Ramos.
Hakimi used to party like a penguin walking with Ramos.
Ramos is Hakimi’s teammate at PSG. The former Real Madrid and Spanish national team captain was forgotten by Enrique despite his showing good performances with Les Parisiens.
Ramos, now 36, is one of the most successful players ever to defend Spain. The 180-capped collector led Spain to two European Championship wins in 2008 and 2012 and once to a World Cup win in 2010.
