The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, through the Public Health Department, achieved high and distinguished achievement rates during the first half of 2023, and worked to devote health awareness to the community, adhere to best practices with international standards in inspection and control, and implement laws and regulations that protect society and promote public health, with a plan Court and continuous inspection and control.
It targeted service facilities directly related to community health and safety, such as barbershops, beauty centers, children’s barbershops, laundry and ironing facilities, workshops, games and entertainment halls, toilets, swimming pools, slaughterhouses, and other service outlets that require the provision of the best health standards and requirements. Aiming at preserving the health and safety of community members, and providing the highest quality services that are in line with the laws and regulations in force in Abu Dhabi.
Within this framework, Abu Dhabi slaughterhouses completed 309,903 carcasses during the first half, as the Shahama automated slaughterhouse prepared 92,525 carcasses, Al Wathba automated 20,866 carcasses, Abu Dhabi automated 76,472 carcasses, and Bani Yas 120,040 carcasses.
The administration also carried out, for the same period, 73,095 control inspection campaigns on all facilities falling within the jurisdiction of the Abu Dhabi Municipality, including: 37,250 for beauty and personal care centers, 11,473 for repair and maintenance workshops, 8,675 for washing and ironing facilities, 9969 for toilets and building control, and 4, 240 for games halls and children’s entertainment centers, and 1488 for closed graves.
It also completed the requirements for accrediting the food safety system «ISO 22000», and held standard meetings with a number of national and regional institutions, including the recent reception of a delegation from the Omani Dhofar Municipality, who was briefed on the services of Abu Dhabi slaughterhouses.
