Acer’s new Nitro screen is equipped with an HDMI 2.1 port for use with game consoles

Acer brought three new gaming monitors at CES this year, namely the 28-inch Nitro XV282K KV, the 32-inch Predator XB323QK NV and the 27-inch XB273U NX. The most interesting of these is probably Nitro’s, because it is currently one of the few game screens on the market that supports HDMI 2.1. HDMI 2.1 allows new generation consoles such as Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 to output 4K 120fps. This specification is more common on high-end TVs, but for users who want to share screens between PC and game consoles, the current choice too much. XV282K KV has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160, and natively has a 120Hz refresh rate, a 100,000,000:1 contrast ratio, a 90% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a 1ms response time. In addition, it also supports AMD’s FreeSync Premium technology.

As for users who only play PC games, Acer also brought two new Predator screens. The larger 32-inch model is a 4K 144Hz panel, which has 90% DCI-P3 wide color gamut like the Nitro model, plus G-Sync support. The smaller 27-inch model has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440, but the update rate is as high as 275Hz, which is more suitable for games that do not require detail but emphasize fast dynamics. The three screens all have the function of LightSense, which can automatically adjust the brightness and color temperature according to the room lighting.
