Acer’s New Nitro Blaze Gaming Tablets: A Powerful Trio for Gamers on the Go
Acer made a splash at CES 2025, unveiling its first foray into the portable gaming tablet market with a trio of devices: the Nitro Blaze 11, Nitro Blaze 8, and Nitro Blaze 7. These new tablets aim to compete directly with other high-end portable gaming solutions, offering impressive specifications and features for gamers who demand performance on the move.
The flagship model, the Nitro Blaze 11, boasts a striking 11-inch IPS display with a vibrant 2560 x 1600 resolution, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and a luminous 500-nit backlight. Similar to the Lenovo Legion Go, it features detachable controllers and a built-in stand for agreeable gameplay. Acer has also incorporated gamer-centric aesthetics, including customizable RGB lighting around the analog sticks, and the new acer Game Space application, a extensive game launcher and settings control center.
Connectivity is robust, with two USB-C ports, a 3.5mm audio jack,a microSD card slot, and a welcome addition of a USB-A port. Under the hood, the Nitro Blaze 11 packs a powerful punch with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, a Radeon 780M graphics card, 16GB of high-speed RAM (7500 MT/s), and up to 2TB of SSD storage (with 512GB as the base configuration).
For those who prefer a more compact option, the Nitro Blaze 8 offers nearly identical specifications and a similar design, but with an 8-inch IPS display and an even faster 144Hz refresh rate. While it lacks the detachable controllers and stand of its larger sibling, its integrated design contributes to enhanced durability. Rounding out the lineup is the Nitro Blaze 7, announced last September, which is expected to launch soon.
All three Nitro Blaze models are slated for release in the second quarter of 2025, with pricing starting at $1,100 for the Nitro Blaze 11, $900 for the Blaze 8, and approximately $800 for the Blaze 7. This competitive pricing positions Acer to make a notable impact in the burgeoning market for high-performance portable gaming.
