Acer has just launched a laptop in the Aspire 3 series, which consists of 14-inch and 15.6-inch screens. The processor is Intel Alder Lake-N.
Processor Intel Alder Lake-N will be used in the latest Acer Aspire 3 series laptops. Although the Raptor Lake replaced most of the Alder Lake processors, Intel featured the Alder Lake-N series in CES 2023 as a low-power alternative to the new U and P series chips.
The Acer 3 laptop is currently available from Acer in 14-inch and 15.6-inch sizes. The Core i3-N305 processor is the processor of the device, although there are differences in size, keyboard design, and screen type.
Reported from Gizmochina (13/1), the Core i3-N305 has no P-core, no Intel Hyper-Threading capability, and eight E-cores running at 3.8 GHz. This processor is also equipped with UHD Graphics Xe 750 iGPU with 32 Execution Units and a TDP of 15 watts.
The processor is coupled with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM, most likely LPDDR5-4800, on the Acer Aspire 3 series. Both Aspire 3 variants include a 3-cell Li-Polymer battery enabling 45 watts of charging and 256GB of NVMe SSD storage. The laptop will feature several ports including a 3.5mm jack, DC power-in, HDMI, Kensington lock, USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, and USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C.
Although Acer claims that the 15.6-inch variant features an Ethernet RJ45 connector, none of the marketing images show it. According to rumors, the larger model also comes with an IPS display, which should offer better viewing angles and color reproduction than the TN panel found on the 14-inch model.
Acer hasn’t confirmed any further screen specs like peak brightness or color gamut, but both have 1080p resolution screens with 16:9 aspect ratio. Naturally, the 15.6-inch model is heavier and larger than the 14-inch model, but Acer has taken advantage of the extra width to include a dedicated number pad.
The Aspire 3 14 inches weighs 1.4 kg and measures 32.7 x 21.6 x 1.9 cm, which is only slightly smaller than the Aspire 3 15 inches at 36.3 x 23.9 x 1.9 cm with weight 1.7 kg. not much difference in terms of price. Acer sells the Aspire 3 14 for USD 480 (Rp 7.3 million) and the 15.6-inch model sells for USD 500 (Rp 7.6 million).
