There have been 6,800 complaints to NRK’s Broadcasting Council since the previous meeting in June. Almost all the complaints are about the Acer case.
6,500 of the complaints concern what Nei til EU believes is the state channel’s lack of coverage of No til EU’s lawsuit against the state.
– The most contested case in the council’s history
– This is the most contested case in the council’s history, says Erik Skarrud, secretary of the Broadcasting Council, in an email to NTB.
No to the EU believes that the Storting cannot cede sovereignty to the EU in the way they did in 2018. With the package, Norway also joined Acer, the energy agency that must ensure that the rules for power exchange between the countries in Europe are observed. The lawsuit is now up in the Supreme Court.
More inflamed cases
In addition, the council must process complaints about coverage of the trial against a police officer accused of violence in Kongsberg and complains about NRK Dagsrevyen’s explanation on high electricity prices in the Southwest.
The daily news report reported that the reason for the high electricity prices in the district was little rain and low tank filling, while the complainants point to the foreign cables as an explanation.
The matters will be dealt with at the Broadcasting Council’s meeting on Thursday, which is the first meeting after the summer.
