Banda Aceh (ANTARA) – The government of Aceh Besar District, Aceh Province is calling on all district gampong officials to play an active role in the success of the Polio National Immunization Sub Week (PIN) in the local area.
“Today, we started the implementation of polio immunization in Aceh Besar in accordance with the statement issued by the Minister of Health together with the Acting (Interim) Governor of Aceh Achmad Marzuki. This activity is part of our effort to save polio our generation from various diseases, especially paralysis,” Acting Regent of Aceh Besar Muhammad Iswanto said in Aceh Besar on Monday.
During the announcement of Polio Sub-PIN in Blang Bintang district, Aceh Besar, he said gampong officials in the regency must participate in socializing the importance of this immunization so that all residents can rush their children to join the program.
In order to make the polio immunization program a success, which provides positive benefits especially to the young generation of Aceh Besar, his party also invited ulema and forkopimda elements according to their level.
“We also invite religious scholars, forkopimda elements according to the level in an effort to make the activities carried out nationwide successful. The union of all parties is one of the keys for us to accelerate the implementation of this immunization,” he stated.
He said Aceh Besar district will carry out polio immunization for 91,846 children under 13 years of age spread across 23 sub-districts of the area.
“The spirit of unity with all parties will accelerate the completion of the implementation of this Polio Sub PIN, let’s go polio vaccine,” said Muhammad Iswanto.
Aceh Acting Chief Besar Kadinkes Neli Ulfiati added that 91,846 children aged zero to under 13 in the area were targeted for polio implementation with a total of 1,222 service posts spread across 23 sub-districts.
In a separate venue, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin together with Acting Governor of Aceh Achmad Marzuki and forkopimda elements announced the implementation of the Aceh Polio Sub PIN to be centered in Anjong Mon Mata Banda Aceh.
