Accuses Apple of intentionally lowering iPhone 12 performance, but is this a misunderstanding?

The Consumer Ombudsman in Spain, “Organization of Consumers and Users”, accuses Apple of lowering the performance of iPhone 12, 11, 8 and Xs from iOS 14.5.

Does iOS 14.5 degrade the performance of new iPhones without compromising battery quality?

It’s been many years since the iPhone 6 series and the “battery gate”. After Apple lowered the performance to preserve the battery, without informing the customers, the company has introduced a battery health check so that one can find out if the battery can perform 100 percent or not.

This is new to us, but now the Spanish consumer organization believes that Apple again lowers the performance of the iPhone 12 after installing the iOS 14.5, 14.5.1 and 14.6 updates.

In fact, they even believe that the iPhone 11, 8 and Xs series also have weaker performance from iOS 14.5.

This is the letter OCU sent to Apple

“9. July, the OCU, along with Altroconsumo, Deco Proteste and Test-Achats, sent a letter to Apple asking the company to explain the published reports of degraded performance experienced by users of the iPhone 12, 11 and 8 series and Xs after iOS 14.5, 14.5.1 14.6 updates.

These updates have significantly damaged consumer devices, and have had the processing speed down and the battery drained faster. It reports many media, both technical and non-technical. ”

ITavisen thinks: this sounds strange

It seems that the organization misunderstands why the performance deteriorates after use, which is due to the chemical composition of modern batteries. What Apple did wrong a few years ago was not to inform that battery replacement was the only thing needed to restore performance, instead of buying a new iPhone.

What the organization needs to document now is that Apple has downgraded performance even though there is nothing wrong with the battery. We have not heard anything about that, at the same time as we know that Apple users are very sensitive in relation to how the mobile works.
