Cristiano Ronaldo was suspected of violating health protocol by returning to Italy despite being positive corona virus. Ronaldo denies this.
Ronaldo tested positive for the corona virus when he joined Portugal national team. This was conveyed directly by the Portuguese Football Federation, Tuesday (13/10).
Due to corona, Ronaldo was absent when Portugal beat Sweden 3-0 in the UEFA Nations League. Striker Juventus then returned to Italy with a positive condition for COVID-19.
Ronaldo’s decision was questioned by the Italian Sports Minister, Vincenzo Spadafora. Ronaldo is considered to have violated health protocol when he returned to Italy.
Ronaldo denies all allegations. The former Real Madrid striker insists he follows all the rules and Juventus have also claimed permission from the health authorities.
“My family is at home on another floor, we can not relate,” Ronaldo said through as quoted by Football Italia.
“I am always at home, now I spend my days sunbathing. I respect protocol, I don’t break it, as it has been said: It’s a lie.”
“I came back from Portugal because this is my team and I made sure to follow all procedures. I returned to Italy by air ambulance and I had no contact with anyone, not even in Turin,” Ronaldo confirmed.
Before Ronaldo went to Portugal, two staff at Juventus tested positive for the Corona virus in the first week of October. The Bianconeri claim to have directed all parties in the club into the “bubble” that has been agreed upon in the sports health protocol in Italy.
On the other hand, there is news that Ronaldo refuses to enter the bubble and chooses to return home. The reason is because they want to prepare for the national team, which is then followed by several Juventus players.
