Accused of using his “ex”‘s credit cards, a 56-year-old was acquitted

She would have tried to free herself from the debts she had contracted by attributing expenses to her ex-husband for an amount ranging from 20 to 30 thousand euros. And he had also reported him accusing him of the improper use of credit and payment cards. But the man, FS, a 56-year-old from Treviso, managed to assert his reasons at trial (in which he was defended by the lawyer Gianfranco Colletti). In fact, there is no proof that he would have spent those amounts and therefore a not guilty verdict was reached because the fact does not exist.

The story dates back to 2016, the year in which FS decided to separate from his wife who is South American. The couple does not part on good terms and the tensions between the two are cut with a knife. So much so that, around Christmas, the man finds himself in trouble with the law. In fact, the “ex” accuses him not only of having stolen her cards and of having also spent the money that was inside. Mainly, according to the initial hypotheses of the Prosecutor’s Office, these would be purchases made at the Carrefour in Marcon, Villorba and San Biagio di Callalta and through an Aura Findomestic card. The sum would amount to almost 30 thousand euros even if the Prosecutor’s Office, which opened a case against him, would dispute “only” just over 17 thousand euros against him.

The crime is serious, punishable by up to 5 years in prison, and can be prosecuted automatically. The woman does not appear as a civil party but starts the proceedings with the complaint. His statements were also made in Court with the deposition which however did not completely convince the public prosecutor Massimo De Bortoli who, faced with the inconsistency of the accusations, asked for acquittal which the judge Iuri De Biasi accepted with the doubtful formula.
