This Thursday, September 21, a woman accused the British actor Russell Brand of having exposed himself sexually in front of her in 2008, a testimony that adds to the recent accusations of rape and sexual assault against this artist.
The alleged victim told the BBC that, when the incident occurred, he worked in the same building where the British network’s offices were located in Los Angeles.
The woman did not report it at the time, but BBC management was aware of the incident since 2019, although it took no action.
“If they had acted then, perhaps there would have been fewer women who would have suffered horrible things, as we are reading lately in the press,” she told the British network.
Additionally, British comedian and actor Russell Brand was also accused of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse over a period of seven years. All this according to research published on Saturday.
Four women reported sexual assault between 2006 and 2013, when Brand was at the height of his fame working as a presenter for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4 and acting in Hollywood films.
The allegations, which Brand denies, were made in a joint investigation by The Sunday Times and The Times newspapers and the Channel 4 Dispatches television programme.
In a video posted Friday, Brand, 48, denied the “very serious criminal allegations” he said would be made against him.
In the investigation, one woman alleged that Brand raped her at his Los Angeles home, while another claims he sexually assaulted her during a three-month relationship when she was 16 and still in school.
Known internationally as the ex-husband of pop star Katy Perry, Brand began his career as a stand-up comedian in the early 2000s.
He was the host of the show Big Brother’s Big Mouth for three years starting in 2004. He also played rock star Aldous Snow in the 2008 film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and its 2010 sequel “Get Him To The Greek.”
