Account access disrupted – customers struggle with problems

Yesterday, many DKB customers were temporarily unable to access their online accounts. The reason for the disorder has not yet been fully clarified.

After an attack on the server service provider of the Deutsche Kreditbank (DKB), the online banking function was disrupted for several hours on Tuesday afternoon. The bank was only able to restore service later in the evening.

Everything under control

Customers were able to access Internet banking and the website again on Wednesday morning. However, restrictions could continue, a spokesman said. “There is currently no sign of a data tap,” the bank said on Wednesday. “All payments that have already been initiated by customers, such as standing orders, direct debits or appointment transfers, will continue to be carried out,” it said. Checking and credit cards could also be used as usual.

Countermeasures were taken immediately with the server service provider. “We work closely with the responsible authorities.” Initially, details of the attack were not known.
