As the representative of the concert hall Elizabete Hartmane informs “Delfi”, there will be a specially designed concert program “Between Dreams and Awakening”, which will be played together with Sidorov by “Sinfonietta Rīga” string quartet and double bassist Jānis Stafeckis.
Ksenija Sidorova is one of the world’s most famous accordion virtuosos, and her cleverly balanced, carefully designed programs have allowed the accordion, known as a folk musical instrument, to be appreciated and known in a completely unknown range of sounds, the concert organizers report.
Last year’s reflection and reflection program “Between Dreams and Awakening” will offer a wide range of authors, introducing Italian accordionist and composer Pietro Rofi and Kiev-born contemporary speaker Sergei Akhunov, whose musical expression is quite akin to two excellent New York minimalists virtuoso – fresh original compositions by Artyom Nizhnik, head of the Bayan Department of the Donetsk State Conservatory of Music, and composer Artyom Nizhny Novgorod – Alexei Arhipovsky, who once performed in Latvia.
The accordion version will feature an excerpt from the American minimalist classic Philip Glass “Glassworks”, as well as several piano miniatures by the Spanish composers for piano. The themes of the famous Argentine Astor Piacolla from the album “Reflections of Piacola” will also be present in the mood of reflections; it was recorded during the pandemic in Madrid and is dedicated to the centenary of Astor Piacola, as well as the genius of Johan Sebastian Bach, which has rarely been heard in Ksenia Sidorova ‘s reading so far, “the concert organizers write about the program.
Ksenija Sidorova has chosen the Sinfonietta Rīga string quartet as her stage partners: Kristiāns Krūskops, Agnese Kanniņš, Artūrs Gailis and Kārlis Klotiņš, as well as double bassist Jānis Stafecki.
Concert in one part, duration: about one hour 20 minutes. Tickets available “Ticket Paradise” box offices.
