According to the media, Lyon have offered most of their players for sale

Olympique Lyon has offered most of its staff for sale in order to reach the fixed financial amount before the end of the transfer period. This was reported today by the French newspaper L’Équipe, according to which Lyon wants to receive 100 million euros (2.5 billion crowns) from the sale, to which it still needs 75 million euros (1.9 billion crowns).

“OL’s management has just put out a message that almost everyone from now on is for sale if someone pays the right amount,” reported L’Équipe. The paper did not say which footballers are available.

Olympique spent 134 million euros (3.4 billion crowns) in the last two months, more than any other French team. In July, the seven-time league champions paid a club record €34 million (853 million crowns) to transfer defender Moussa Niakhate from Nottingham.

Last month, Lyon also assured Ligue 1 management that they would raise €100m by selling players this summer to avoid sanctions for breaking financial rules.

The Champions League semi-final is owned by investment holding company Eagle Football Group, which also has majority stakes in Botafogo, Molenbeek in Belgium and Crystal Palace. Lyon finished sixth in the French league last season, and the less lucrative Europa League awaits them.
