According to Mayor Zdeněk Hřib (Pirates), the situation in Prague is deteriorating. There were 52 more coronavirus infections in the capital yesterday. There are a total of 2743 active cases in the metropolis to date.
Forty percent of them are of community origin, for whom hygienists are unable to find the source of the infection. People from the Techtle Mechtle club in Prague also have a share in the high number of infections. Since the sole source of the infection, young ladies have infected 109 people, and hygienists assume that this is not the final number.
In connection with the deteriorating situation, Prague has been introducing mandatory drapes in pharmacies or doctor’s waiting rooms since Monday. Veils must still be worn by people in the subway. In other means of public transport, veils are only recommended, however, the mayor called on citizens to cover their mouths and noses there as well.
Prague also wants to set up a new collection point in the city center, where tourists could also come and get tested.
