The former President of the Republic, Macky Sall, begins the battle for the “recovery of Senegal”. Head of the Takku Wallu coalition list, Macky Sall spoke to some of his activists this weekend, in a live broadcast via WhatsApp to further mobilize them in the face of the issues and especially a future of Senegal that he does not find radiant. According to him, Senegal is at the bottom of the wave because of the partners who have turned their backs on it because they no longer know the guideline that those in power would like to impose.

On the other hand, Macky Sall makes multiple phone calls via WhatsApp to stay in contact with his activists. In a video of which Sud Quotidien obtained a copy, the head of the Takku Wallu coalition list spoke to activists gathered at the home of the former Minister of National Education, Mamadou Talla, to discuss with them the economic situation of the country which he finds bloodless since the advent of President Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye at the head of the supreme judiciary.

Therefore, know that the legislative elections go beyond the partisan framework, they go beyond the party (Alliance for the Republic), they go beyond the coalition that was made, they go beyond the inter-coalition. The only thing that matters (…),” declared the former President of the Republic, in the Fulani national language.
And added, “you have all seen the situation the country finds itself in in just six months. Six months isn’t much. However, if we continue in this dynamic, the descent into hell will be inevitable, poverty will increase, and so will difficulties. “And for good reason, all the partners who helped the country stopped. Because they no longer know where Senegal is going. The future is far from bright. It will be even worse,” he predicts. However, he was quick to say: “if God helps us to reverse the trend in the next elections, you will see that the government will be forced to get its act together”
As a reminder, the Takku Wallu coalition that he leads is made up of two distinct blocs. The first, the Bloc of Liberals and Democrats (BLD), brings together Macky Sall’s Alliance for the Republic (APR) and several dozen liberal groups, often from the ranks of Abdoulaye Wade’s Senegalese Democratic Party (PDS). The second, Wallu Senegal, was born from the group that the PDS had led during the previous legislature.
