According to a study, Android users drive better than iPhones

Not electricity, but a car. In the past, all sorts of research has been done to compare people using Android and iOS, trying to get a picture of consumer habits, but of course there are some surveys that are mostly used to fight the two camps against each other. Probably the latest survey that is the subject of our article falls more into the latter category.

An app called Jerry is designed to compare different car insurance policies, and recently published research results come from collecting the app. Operators wanted to find out if Android or iOS users are driving better, safer. To be able to estimate this, 13 million kilometers of driving data from 20,000 cars were collected. By all measurement criteria, Android users perform better on the road.

“Jerry analyzed data from 20,000 drivers collected over 14 days of driving 13 million kilometers. From the data, an overall driving score and sub-scores for acceleration, speed, braking, cornering, and distraction were determined. The results were then grouped according to the smartphone operating systems and different demographics. ”

Whether it’s focus, braking or cornering, Android users have emerged victorious in every category, meaning they’re driving more safely. Focusing on the road is what made the difference the most, the study found iPhone owners are much more likely to look at their smartphone than others.

However, Jerry says Android users are much more open, honest and modest, and much less interested in the social status and luxury of others, according to Jerry.
