Accor Group Re-Enters CAC 40 Index after Record Financial Year

The CAC 40 constitutes a selection of the most important companies listed on the Paris Stock Exchange whose performance evolution gives a good indication of the state of the market and its direction.

A member of the CAC 40 since the creation of the index in 1987, Accor left it in 2020 as the group faced the Covid-19 pandemic. The choice of the Scientific Council of Euronext Paris Indices to reintegrate Accor is symbolic of the rebound of the company which has regained, or even exceeded, its historical performance levels.

For the record, in 2023, the Accor Group posted for the first time in its history a Gross Operating Surplus of more than one billion euros for a turnover of more than 5 billion euros.

Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and CEO of Accor, welcomes this symbolic return: “ We are proud to see Accor re-enter the CAC 40, a major success which demonstrates the hard work and unfailing commitment of our teams. This recognition reflects the Group’s sustained growth and leadership in the very dynamic global hospitality sector. I would also like to share this excellent news with Paul Dubrule, co-founder of the Group, while thinking of Gérard Pélisson, his lifelong companion. After a record financial year in 2023, the Group has had a solid start to 2024, driven by an increase in the occupancy rate and strong demand, which allows us to look forward to the years to come with optimism. »

Accor was not completely absent from the CAC 40 since it was and still is a member of its ESG index, which distinguishes companies for the exemplary nature of their environmental, societal and governance practices.
