They decrease deaths from road accidents in the Salerno area. We read it in a report signed and released by Aci Salerno which took into consideration the current period from January 1st to December 31st 2023 where 2,553 accidents occurred compared to 2,570 in 2022, which caused 3,791 injuries (the previous year there were 3,838) and unfortunately there are still 52 victims, but with the comforting figure of the decrease from 58 in 2022. All this despite the record increase in traffic and tourists especially during the holiday period.

The month with accidents in order of numbers out of 2,553 of 2023: July (297), August (275), September (265), June (249), October (225), April (203), March (202), May ( 193), December (175), November (167), February (158) and January (144).
In which months did the most deaths occur?
In July and December there were fatal accidents with 9 deaths in each month, in June 7, March, May, August, September, October and November with 4 deaths in each month, 2 in January, 1 in November and none in April.
Causes with fatal accidents
The greatest number of accidents is lateral, followed by rear-end collisions, collisions with pedestrians, collisions with a stationary vehicle, head-on collisions and spills. Among the fatalities, the most common causes are frontal road accidents and frontal lateral ones (added together they make 21 out of 52), there are 12 collisions with pedestrians, 9 due to spills, 8 collisions with stationary vehicles, and one due to a rear-end collision and another due to another cause .
