Bolzano, 14 November 2020 – Two dead and three wounded in four distinct incidents in the mountains A Saturday to forget for hiking and climbing enthusiasts. One victim died in Trentino Alto Adige, the other in Lombardy.

Trentino, three accidents, one fatal

In Appiano, near Bolzano, a man died when he fell into a forest for about 200 meters. The body was recovered from the rescue helicopter with the winch.
On the other hand, a mountaineer who slipped on a snowfield during the climb of Cima di Campolago, above Vandoies, in Val Pusteria, was seriously injured, while two Vicentines, a man and a woman of 56, were rescued below Cima Grugola, in the Folga group , at an altitude of about 2,300 meters: both of them slipped about 70 meters along a steep grassy slope as they were descending from the top of the mountain. The most serious was immediately the woman who got polytrauma ending up against a boulder, while the man injured his shoulder.

The other fatal accident occurred in the afternoon in Valtellina. At around 3.30 pm, a 34-year-old Lombard hiker who slipped during an outing on Mount Pallino at about 2000 meters above sea level was killed. The alarm was raised by the friend, who was later recovered unharmed, to the Alpine Rescue of the Sagf of the Finance Police of Sondrio and to the VII Delegation of Valtellina and Valchiavenna. In the evening, the investigations by the judicial police were still in progress and the victim’s personal details were not disclosed, also waiting to inform the relatives of the deceased hiker.
