Accidents – Frankfurt am Main – man injured after car chase: fire on car – panorama

Offenbach/Frankfurt am Main (dpa/lhe) – During a chase with the police, a motorist on Autobahn 661 near Frankfurt crashed into a lane restrictor and was seriously injured. Police put out the subsequent fire in his vehicle Saturday night with their fire extinguisher, officials said. The man arrived at the hospital.

The driver had already noticed the emergency services in Offenbach due to his strange driving style. According to the police, the man fled in his car on the highway before the checkpoint, where the accident finally took place. The route was closed until the early hours of the morning. The inquest is investigating why the man fled from the police.
