Mumbai: Gynecologist Anahita Pandol, who was driving the car in the death of industrialist and former Tata Group chairman Cyrus Mistry in the car crash, police said she had driven her car at excessive speed many times before. After 2020, the police sent them speeding warnings 11 times. A lawsuit was filed against Anahita Pandol over Mistry’s accidental death. A lawsuit for careless driving was filed against them.
An accident occurred at the Surya Nadi Charoti Bridge on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway on 4 September. Besides Mistry, Anahita Pandol’s cousin Jahangir Pandol also died in the accident.
The Mercedes Benz involved in the accident was registered to JM Financials, a company owned by the Pandol family. The vehicle was driven by Anahita Pandol. After 2020, this vehicle has 19 traffic violations, including speeding.
Mercedes-Benz had provided a crash report. Their report said the car’s speed was 100km per hour up until five seconds before the crash. 3.5 seconds before the accident, the speed was reduced to 89 km/h when the car suddenly braked and Mistry and Jehangir, who were not wearing their seat belts in the back seat of the car, were thrown onto the seat front and the accident occurred.
The doctor was seriously injured in the accident. Anahita’s statement has not yet been recorded as her treatment continues.
