Last Saturday evening around 7:30 p.m., several road users reported a major traffic accident on the motorway in the direction of Würzburg at the level of Lehrensteinsfeld via an emergency call. The first investigations revealed that a 30-year-old from the Winnenden area was skidding in her Audi for a previously unknown cause.
Here she got into the concrete boundary to the left. The Audi overturned there and stayed in the left lane on the roof. A 29-year-old man from Bietigheim driving behind could no longer evade in time with his BMW despite emergency braking, touched the Audi and was turned into the middle lane. There he hit a flatbed truck.
The autobahn had to be completely closed in the direction of Würzburg for about 90 minutes. According to previous knowledge, the two car drivers were slightly injured by the accident. The cause of the accident was property damage amounting to approx. 50,000 euros to the three vehicles involved. There were 6 fire brigade vehicles with 26 emergency services on site. Furthermore 4 ambulances with 8 paramedics.
